What documents will I be required to come to India?

Passport and Visas Passport is the most important document during your overseas travel. Ensure that the validity of passport does not expire during your journey. Get the visas done before you travel to India. The Consular Passport and Visa (CPV) Division of the Ministry of External Affairs is responsible for issuance of Indian visas to the foreign nationals for their visit for various purposes. This facility is granted through various Indian missions abroad. India does not issue on-arrival visas.

How is the Railway Network in India?

Being one of the largest and widely spread networks in the world, Indian railways are connected to every small part of the country. You can visit any part of our country by railways. The railways mainly have following classes going from higher to lower respectively: First Class (FC), Second AC (2A), Third AC (3A), Chair Car (CC), Sleeper Class (SL) and General (G). Railway Reservation begin 90 days in advance of the travel date. Summer Vacations (April, May, June), Diwali Festival Holidays (Oct / Nov) which are typically for 15 days and last week of December are considered as “season” making it difficult to procure the reservations. Plan early to give yourself a realistic chance to get yourself a reservation. Tatkal tickets: Tatkal, literally translated as “immediate” are issued just two days before the departure of the train and are meant for those having last minute plans for their trip. The cost for these tickets is high as compared to regular tickets. It goes without saying that these tickets too are highly in demand. There are certain relatively Fast trains which may be chosen for more comfortable journey and on-time performance. “Shatabdi Express”, Shatabdi means Centenary / Century, are day-trains and they return to the station of origin the same day. “Rajdhani Express”, Rajdhani means Capital, are long-distance trains connecting the nation”s capital to other metropolitan cities. There are other types of trains too called as “Sampark Kranti”, “Janshatabdi Express” and “Duranto” which are faster than “Passenger” trains. At Dream Holidays, we are tieup with IRCTC recognised ticket booking Agent. Our dedicated staff will advice and book your Railway ticket in one of the most complex and extensive Railway networks of the world.

Many of them are pre-costed for your ready reference considering the Hotels and the transport that is generally required. However, in case the itinerary you are looking for in not on our website or the charges mentioned are not what you are comfortable with, then do let us know. We will work on your itinerary and / or charges till we are able to create for you the holidays of your dreams. For customizations, do let us know – your convenient days/dates -period of travel -budgets -destinations that you wish to explore. -a hotel / resort where you would like to stay -…and any other information that will help us to design a good holiday for you and make supporting travel arrangements.

How can I get the best possible holidays with minimum budgets / maximum savings?

Plan Early. Your early plans would help in getting the reservations for you on desired dates and destinations especially if it is peak season. If you wish to travel by train to few of the destinations in India then your early the better plan helps. Remember railway Reservation begin 90 days in advance of the scheduled travel date. – Your costs in air tickets are saved to a large extend if your travel plan is ready before hand. As travel date approaches, the charges for air tickets go on increasing. – You may cover maximum possible distance by railways and travel by pre-arranged vehicle / taxi beyond that. Charges per km by railways is less than any other mode of transport. – Choose destinations which are close to each other. This may / may not save the cost but you positively get more time to explore the destination and not spend much time in traveling. – Balance / average the cost. In case you wish to explore the hospitality of a high-end luxury hotel, the high charges for the same can be averaged out by selecting a “value for money / budget” hotel in other destination, in the same itinerary. Typically this will neither comply to the definition of “luxury package” not “budget package” but this “customization” will help to experience the hospitality that you are looking for in the budgets that you have allotted for your tour.

How early should I plan my travel?

Ideal answer is “now”, more practical answer is at the earliest. Decide early on the destination that you wish to explore and do it a lot before your travel dates. Planning of a holiday is as exciting as the actual holidays. Take your partner and family into confidence and make it a great holiday planning experience…unless of course you want to surprise them with a holiday. Early planning helps you get best airfares, helps you get Railway Reservations (Railway Reservation open 90 days before the travel date) and helps you to secure Hotels that you want. Late bookings may compel you to change the destination or compromise with your Hotel choice.

There is a difference in the charges when compared to that of a different organization. Whats the reason?

Simply put, Tour Cost is nothing but an “algebraic addition” of various components that go on to make a Tour. Look for fine print and ask questions when not clear on certain aspects of your tour. – Hotel : Name of the Hotel, number of nights of stay, type of room (standard / deluxe / luxury / with view / without view etc.), inclusions of luxury tax, food inclusions. – Transport : Number of days of vehicle use, vehicle type, ac or non ac, drivers allowance, interstate taxes, toll and parking. – Air : Total cost typically consists of Base fare + Taxes. Ask if the fares quoted to you are with taxes. – Railway : Class of travel. We give breakups of the hotels, surface transport, air / railway charges so that you know the charges for each component your travel consists of. Infinite Journeys generates good volume of business for all its suppliers and hence get best possible deals from them. The cost benefit is passed to you ensuring that you get best possible / honest cost.

Which State Tourism Development Corporations (STDCs) are booked by us? What are the advantages?

What differenciates STDCs with other Resorts / Hotels is their location which invariably is the best that the destination can offer. Most of the STDCs charges are economical making your tour cost low. STDCs typically offer clean and hygienic stay. Staying in STDCs if you are looking for “luxury” may not be that good an idea. At Infinite Journeys, we book for : HPTDC (Himachal Pradesh Tourism) KMVN-GMVN (Uttarakhand Tourism) RTDC (Rajasthan Tourism) MPTDC (Madhya Pradesh Tourism) Gujarat Tourism MTDC (Maharashtra Tourism) KSTDC (Karnataka Tourism) GTDC (Goa Tourism) KTDC (Kerala Tourism) Orissa Tourism (OTDC / Panthanivas)

Dear Mr Nikhil, I have taken a little longer to mail you, but thats becausse we are yet to recover from the wonderful tour of Dubai. Back to India and we seem to be lost. And we are already looking forward to yet another fantastic outing. I am attaching a few pictures. Hope they meet your requriement. Pls share tham with Mr Lavin as well. One has to be fortunate to simply dream of a holiday and let someone simply fulfil it. I guess I was really fortunate that I came across “Dream Holidays” of Ahemdabad. It was a chance encounter with Dream Travels and Mr Nikhil Soni, its proprietor, which has left a lasting impression. I thought of a short break with my wife to Dubai and surfed the net for ideal/suitable proposals. I came across “Dream travels” and it was difficult to let go with them with their ever positive and ‘never say die’ approach and the patience Mr Nihkil had to deal with my innumerable queries. (I posted him with 78 mails in all and he had the energy to reply to each one of it). This was our first international holiday and was apprehensive about it. The fact that I was out of country and my wife having to join me at Dubai (our dream destination) made matters a little more complicated. Other reputed travel companies not only failed to satisfy my basic queries but had too many pre-travel cumbersome formalities. The response was inadequate besides being untimely too. This is what scored in favour of “Dream Travels”. Right from providing us with a very very competitive tour package to extending visa on line, personalised treatment at Dubai, booking hotel of our choice and a check-in/check –out time of our own/suiting us, shopping tips (with heavy discounts thrown in), travel tips, timely pick-up and drop et al. It seemed to be an absolutely “no worries, no hassles” trip. Besides the basic tour package we had some add ons which were promptly arranged to our liking and suiting our itinerary as well. The icing on the cake was when Mr Nikhil called us up while in Dubai to check if everything was in order besides checking on our arrival back home. This is the extract of my tour report on “Trip Advisor.com”.

Dear Nikhilbhai, It was a real pleasure to visit Dubai during Diwali Vacation (23rd to 27th Oct. 2011) except following two points… 1 Food arrangement at Dhow cruise (on 23rd Oct. Evening) was not up to the mark.. It may because of over loaded with passengers and they were failed to serve batter to all tourist on board. 2 As per your commitment we suppose to get one Sim card at Dubai, but when we had asked Mr. Lavin of smart LLC about the same, he ask for 55 AED for the same which really surprise us. Apart from above two points, We really appreciate the package you had offered us as well as all arrangement starts from Ahmadabad Airport to Dubai and back. My family had fully enjoyed the trip.. I will send some photographs as discuss to you as it was with my home computer. Thank you for all your support and coordination.

20 Nov 2011 I am from the states, and did a two week long trip of North India (Rajasthan) and South India (Kerala). We organized everything through Dream Holidays and they planned EVERY SINGLE DETAIL for us without a hitch. The main thing was that they really can cater to your budget and provide an array of options for hotels and transportation, and also arranged personal drivers for each leg of our trip. They are also very attentive and available to you if you were to have any issues during your trip. You can sense that they truly hope you not only have a good experience with Dream Holidays, but more so, a great experience with India. India is definitely a tourist destination where you want to have it organized for you by a tourist agency that knows what it”s doing, and I would definitely use Dream Holidays again when I decide to visit other parts of India.
